Orthodontic Braces McPherson KS
Need a caring orthodontic dentist? Finding quality orthodontics can be difficult. Dental braces are one of our dental practice's primary areas. Dr. Julian is one of the most respected practitioners in McPherson and the surrounding Lindsborg, Mound Ridge and Inman areas. Braces: the Adult Patient One of the genuine rewards of the new orthodontics is the adult patient who is willing to wear braces, do the "home" work, and who is excited by the prospect of having straighter teeth and a more perfect bite. As they say in baseball, it's a whole new ball game. Thanks to the new orthodontic materials available today, we can offer visible or invisible braces -- braces made with space age metals, braces glued to the back of the teeth. But that's just the "office" part. Some dentists would even argue that the most critical aspect of orthodontic treatment is how patients do their "home" work. Braces need constant cleaning. There's a rigid retainer schedule to follow. Certain foods must be avoided. It's a challenge. But once committed, adult patients understand what needs to be done and are willing to do it. They've made the investment in time and money. So they're willing to make the sacrifices (no caramels!) to get the results. If Mother Nature let you down and your mom couldn't afford orthodontia, call us. It's never too late to get the perfect smile! It's Never Too Late for Braces! Not so long ago, mostly children had braces if their family could afford them. Now adults are wearing braces in greater and greater numbers. And there's never been a better time to make this choice. Braces are smaller, lighter, easier to clean and wear comfortably. A whole new world of orthodontic materials that work better and faster is available to us. Metal bands are only a memory. We use new plastics and bonding adhesives. Wire and brackets can be "super-glued" directly onto the teeth. There are some braces that seem "invisible." Nitinol (thanks NASA!) is a new metal that retains its shape and is strong enough to withstand the force exerted by orthodontic appliances. Moderate gaps can even be invisible with lingual braces glued to the back of the teeth. If you think you need
braces, call us and check out all your options!
Braces--How Early? How early should children get an orthodontic evaluation? A simple guideline we use is that
children should be examined at the time the permanent teeth are starting to come
in. However, every child is different, and the best starting time for
orthodontic treatment depends on the type of problem and how severe it is. So
the answer really is: "It depends..."
If your child requires treatment, early intervention can make a real difference. We see the best results with treatments that would be impossible once your child's face and jaw have completed his growth. Also, when started early, completion of treatment at a later age is much easier.
